| Does anyone have experience with Slide Fire? Thinking of putting one on my Rock River but they're expensive. |
|
I have one. I think they're worth it. Mine is on an RR AR as well. They're easy to get used to, and you will soon be squeezing off three round bursts or full mag dumps, as is your pleasure. I think you can go through a 29 rd mag in about 3.4 seconds. While that's fun and loud, it gets expensive pretty fast. I don't run steel case in my RRs after a bad experience, and brass is not cheap. The real money will not be in the purchase of the stock.
I've read criticisms that the rifle is not as controllable as an M4, but I didn't have any trouble. I've never shot a real FA, so I have nothing to compare it against. The weak hand and trigger finger are doing things a little different with a SF stock, but it didn't present a problem for me. You can lock the sliding action out, so you can return it to regular operation easily. It's no big deal to just take it off from time to time, either. |
