So I just installed the PWS FSC 556 muzzle brake on my new bcm bfh midi upper. My question is how tight is too tight? How much torque would it take to tighten so much that the threads actually stretched and the accuracy was compromised from it? I hear guys that are obsessed with accuracy will just hand tight there muzzle device and use loctite so they don't have to torque it too much..
Thanks for any help. |

One of these came on my SCAR; I seemed to have a minor misalignment and was an effective but LOUD flash hider. I therefore switched it out for a Surefire FS556K but this (S-F) kit came with multiple washers and a timing chart.
It seems like it would take a lot of torque to over tighten the flash hider, as it came with a crush washer from PWS, and wasn't too hard to remove. Check on the PWS website, or maybe in the directions that came with your PWS flash hider? Specs have to be hiding somewhere, right? |
Exactly, you should be using the right parts and the right tools for the install. If you don't know how to do it take it to someone who does. Not trying to be azz but you come in here asking for help in the middle of the night and then get your panties all twisted up when someone doesn't hold your hand within two hours. Good Luck
