I have a plate carrier with molle mag pouches holster etc. My problem is not all the gear is the same color my preference is OD green however not all of it is. So my question is if its possible to spray paint
my black gear OD green. Many spray paint their rifles and i was wondering if anyone has any experience with clothes. I would really like to have consistency in my gear. pictures would be helpful thanks.

Rit dye will work on cordura. I would do that instead of painting

This. But all painting your clothes is going to do is cause them to end up in the trash. You don't generally paint pliable items. If you do they tend to no longer be pliable.

You could "dust" it with krylon but you"ll have to go with something like tan.  A dusting of OD on black will not do much.  I light dusting of tan will lighten it up a good bit.  Just don't try to paint it solid or you will have a mess on your hands.

Rit's makes a dye remover that comes in a packet and might knock some of the black out to a grey, never tried it and might damage the material. I took a camel color plate carrier, died it forest green then did a sponge camo paint job on it with rust-oleum paint and it worked fine. Get a piece of gear you don't mind screwing up and try it out on it.

I've done a solid paint job on a plate carrier before. It was a bit stiff at first but quickly loosened up and certainly wasn't a mess or disaster. I would recommend selling the black one and getting what you really want but the paint job is definitely possible.

Try to sell the black gear and buy the gear you want in the color of your choice.
