what do you plan to mount it onto a quad rail or standard hand guards?  Check out impact weapons components they have some nice mounting options

Buy either the magpul illumination kit...they come with a bunch or pieces you may need or want...

Or, cdp sells a blam mount that is a 1913 rail mounted off the bayonet lug...

Either way you go above, then just get any rail mounted light...

Surefire tlr series or surefire x series...

Ther are others but both of those are going to function for a long time...they are tested as weapon mounted lights...

I own several tlr lights as wel quite a few surefire x series light...both are gtg!

Skip the cheaper china lights and even I don't care for the regular flashlight in a mount either...

My opinion is if you want a weapon mounted get a apron mounted light...if you want a flashlight get one...

I leave my lights on my weapons all the time, except changing batteries or maintance...

My 2 cents

Just get the magpul scout light mount for like $8.

Then get a TLR-1S or surefire X300
