I picked up a dpms sportical. So far i ordered a set of flip down iron sights, and a true glo red dot. I also picked up a couple extra mags.
Now i am thinking of getting/upgrading the following: a quad rail, foregrip, pistol grip, and butt stock....Looking for suggestions, links would be great. Please remember this is a budget gun, so best bang for the buck suggestions. Thanks! |
| Point is you just added a potential 400 bucks altogether to your budget gun...they make em much more complete for less than that. Now if you bought the last AR available I understand accessorize away but it always to buy the most optioned version and then tweaking here and there but what's done is done. Your best bet is to watch for coupons for these accessories at a cabelas or cheaper than dirt or the classifieds. There's not a lot of variation in th eprices of these such as Magpul and Troy. Troy was having an end of the year sale if they have any stock left . You might just have to call them to see if there have been any canceled orders. I'm confused though. You want a foregrip, quadrail and a pistol grip? |

Yeah they had the sportical, and a bushmaster...the bushmaster was 950, but everyone on the forums screamed that bushmasters are crap..so i got the sportical..figured id have a few bucks left over for accessories.
Ya know, i think if i get sick of the sportical, i can take the aftermarket stuff off, and get a better ar for them to go on.. |

If the Sportical doesn't meet your needs, you can always swap uppers, barrels, etc., and sell off the parts you don't need.
But yeah, two ARs are always better than one. ETA: To answer your original questions about accessories, there are tons of quad rails out there. Someone more knowledgeable than me can help you out. I replaced the Troy rail on my duty AR with a set of Magpul MOE handguards, an MOE vertical grip, and mounted my SureFire G2. The MOE handguard setup is quite a bit lighter than the Troy rails were and accomplish the same thing. As far as the pistol grip and buttstock, have you fired this rifle yet with the factory parts? If it works, why replace it? If you fell you need to, the Magpul MOE line is quite popular (again). I prefer the Hogue grip, but the Ergo grip will work well if you have larger hands. One last thought: Before you go hanging every last piece of tacticool gear off what is a lightweight, no-frills rifle, think about what you intend to use the rifle for and if you really need all of that crap on it. A good sling, light, and optic are really all that's necessary on a fighting rifle. |
