After being at the range today with some lower end plugs and having them work horribly, I'm ready to step it up to a pair of high end ear pro.
I shoot rifles mostly and handguns too. I don't need intercom jacks or any kind of radio hook ups. Willing to spend $150-$250 although I'd love to spend $150-$200. I was looking at MSA Sordin Supreme Pro-X although I'm not sure if I am paying too much for some features that I know that I will not use. What's a great pair of high end ear pro? |

What are you shooting and are we talking indoors/outdoors?
I use a $30 (I think) set of Howard Leight low-pro muffs. For outdoors, they work great. The biggest cal I've shot with them is .308 and still didn't need to double up with plugs under the muffs. Haven't tried them indoors yet, though. There's also the Howard Leight electronic muffs for about $50, IIRC. Plenty of great reviews on them. Unless being able to have normal sound level conversations, or needing communications jacks, is a deal breaker, then I see no need to spend $200 on ear pro for outdoor shooting. Just my opinion. |

I've used the Howard Leight low-profile electronic ear muffs. They have been great, work well, use 2 AA batteries and even have the phone/radio interface ability - all for about $50.00 .
I ordered mine from Amazon.com. http://www.amazon.com/Howard-Leight-R-01526-Electronic-Earmuff/dp/B001T7QJ9O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1342414572&sr=8-1&keywords=howard+leight+electronic+earmuffs hope this helps.... |
