What two point slings do you guys use?
I have a MI drop-in quad rail so I can use a QD adaptor or the ring under my FSB and a CTR stock. What would the hive recommend? Thanks! |
| I use the VTAC padded sling with QD's on either end. VTAC RSM QD mount on my rail and a Noveske QD endplate on my receiver. Great sling. I was using a Specter Gear 2p sling but I switched to the padded VTAC for additional comfort. The Specter Gear is a real good sling though. I used it in my department's 5 day carbine course and it worked well. I gave it to my son when I picked up the VTAC and he loves it. |
| You have to buy them separately. I really like the Blue Force Gear swivels. They come in two sizes. I get the smaller one. If you want one with the swivels attached get the Larue Tactical padded sling. It's the VTAC sling sold under their name and it has swivels included along with a fastex buckle on the front so you can unass the sling quickly if need be. |

I've never found a reason to change from my standard Boonie Packer 2P-TQA - I must own six or seven. I take them to my local shoe repair guy and stitch in the front attachment (QD, HK hook or MASH hook as appropriate).
It's a lot of sling for $16 delivered and is the design granddaddy of many popular slings that cost more. |

Just ordered the Tareinco VTP 2-1 Sling. It will be in this week with their new USP (Univeral Sling Pad)....feedback to follow.
This sling will come with QD swivels and such...and I will more than likely use the QD slot on my Magpul CTR and the QD socket on my DD Omega rail. Tareinco includes a Impact Weapons Components Triglide. Cost wise....was a better option for me. |

I just got a Boonie Packer 2 point sling. I wasn't sure what sling I wanted so I went with that because of the price. Great sling. Does exactly what I need it to do.
This is the one I got |

I have the Emdom/MM Gunslinger. I bought it in 2009 just before going on my deployment to Afghanistan. It has held up great and I still use it on my personal AR15. For the front, I use an ITW mash hook and clip it onto the standard FSB sling swivel. I have the rear mounted to an ikickhippies SLAP endplate. The SLAP allows me to mount the sling directly with the 1" webbing of the gunslinger rear connector. Obviouslly you can attach it to your rifle however you want. For example, you can use a Noveske QD endplate and put a QD on the rear connector and use an HK snap hook on the front which will allow you to still use the sewn in D ring. You could also mount to the stock itself. It's all user preference but most like mounting to the receiver with some sort of endplate.
I usually recommend the gunslinger sling but can be on backorder for a while sometimes. A friend of mine was looking for a sling and after both of us doing some research, he orderded the Savvy Sniper QUAD sling with HK snap hooks. I got a chance to try it out and it's a good sling. I like the bungee on it and the quick adjustment however I still prefer the Emdom/MM Gunslinger because ike the 1.8" seatbelt webbing and the sewn in D ring for single point. Other popular options are the VTAC or padded VTAC, Magpul MS2 or MS3 (their latest version), or BlueForce Gear. Another sling that I wouldn't mind trying is Spec-Ops Brand Patrol Sling. I've always liked their webbing, buckles and fabrics from other gear I've bought from them. |
| Just picked up an MS3 sling. It is by far the best I have used. It is attached to QD points on a LaRue Tactical rail, and a Noveske base plate. It is fast, comfortable, doesn't bind, and very easy to use. The 1 point setup is very functional as well. The sling hhoks are by far the best thought out and easiest to use I have ever seen. It is a bargain for $49. The only thing I wish they would have done is use phosphated stainless steel hardware. I am sure the polymer parts will hold up, but the stainless would have been a very nice touch. |
| I second the MS3 sling, I like running a 2pt rigg but like being able to switch to a 1pt if needed. I use to run the MS2 but found out during longe training courses the thinner / silky strap dug into my shoulder. The MS3 with it's wider sling strap is much more comfortable, and the hardware is also better. |

I just picked up a Tac Strap and I am in love with it!!
I would suggest anyone looking into a sling give them a look. http://www.tacstrap.com/ |

I use a SKT 2 point sling that I purchased at Rainier Arms. They are great and several of the guys at Rainier prefer them over the other high end slings.
