| I am currently running a magpul MS2 sling on my Colt le 6933 sbr and I was thinking about upgrading to a MS3 is it worth it? |
|
Best bet may be to find someone who has the MS3 and compare 'em. I just got the MS3 myself, one of my shooting buddies has the MS2... the 3 is wider, and I think a bit easier to use. My buddy agrees, but doesn't think the difference is big enough to switch from his MS2. |

Owned/used both. I agree the MS3 is a much better sling. The attachments on the MS3 are the SHIT!
Here's the "however"..... Neither sling adjusts easily. To tighten the sling you must pull exaclty inline with the sling, backward. This VERY dificult to do quickly and or if you are a bigger guy. Loosening is easier but you must still pull away exactly inline with the sling. You might check out SKT slings. Scott will add any hardware to make you the perfect 2 into 1 setup. Currently I am planning on removing the MS3 attachements to use on my SKT slings. The best thing about the SKT sling is you can pull in a "gerneal" direction and the sling works. Very nice. Infact to lossen the sling you can simply pull out away from your body and it'll loosen. Best I've used. -T |

I don't mean to hi jack but can someone tell me if the ms3 is longer than the ms2? I have the ms2 and it is super tight and I'm not that big 200 lbs. Thanks for any help. I have an MS2, and when it was adjusted to fit me as the instructions described, it had ~9" of excess material flapping around which I needed to trim. I would have thought that the MS2 could fit even a fat version of Rambo. I'm interested too, in the answer to whether or not the MS3 is any longer or shorter than the MS2. |

With the sling extended all the way out on each end, shackle to shackle, this is the length difference as seen on the receiver end, roughly 3" longer for the MS3. http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f240/mvician/P1150772.jpg Thanks. I guess that when/if I get to upgrade from an MS2 to an MS3, I might end up needing to trim an entire foot of excess material. |

Is it possible to get just those ms3 lock jaw clip hardware? They look interesting. buy sling....snip-snip.....ms3 hardware! I'm sure Magpul has no plans to sell the components seperately.... oh is it a magpul designed product? i was thinking they got the parts and put them together. like when manufactures buy cobra belt buckles and make their own riggers belt. man these slings are going for like $50. dont know if i can justify that to customize a bag. |

Yes ALL the hardware on the MS3 is designed and built by Magpul. We don't have any plans on selling these item separately just yet but there might be options for you in the future. |
