i'm looking to tryout a handstop on one of my rifles instead of a vfg. what are my options? i like the one larue offers but can it be used with magpul xtm panels? don't want the magpul afg or afg2.

Knights and Gear Sector also make hand stops.

No experience with either.

IIRC the LaRue can work with XTM panels but may need little or no modification.

Other options.

I've recently looked at other unique options with the Cadex Hand Stop and the Noveske Barracade Support.

I ran the KAC for a while, but if you got the upper hot, the heat transferred right to the handstop.
Switched to a different longer rail and don't use that upper much anymore.

It really depends on what you want from a hand stop.  If you are looking for something to just stop your hand or provide a point of reference on the rail then I would highly suggest a Gear Sector hand stop.  If you are a shooter who utilizes the thumb at the 12 o'clock position you might really like the GasPedal from GoGun.  Both do very different jobs but enhance weapon control.  I've been testing the GasPedal for the last 30 days and its very impressive!
