So I have decided to try out bipod shooting. I am going with the UTG from amazon (knowing full well it is not a Harris or other high end bipod) because I still don't know if its something I want to get into or not and whatever.

ANYWAY,

So from the little research I have been doing, it seems like they either mount with picatinny rail or sling swivel stud attachment. My AR has a sling swivel stud and a magpul MOE hand guard.

So the question is, which is the best way to mount it? Get a picatinny rail section for the hand guard and mount it there, or mount it to the sling swivel stud attachment., or is it all the same?

The Harris mounts to a sling stud so you need a rail adaptor in most AR scenarios.
I have the YHM model.

Can't speak for China.
If they knocked off a Harris that's what you'll be looking at.

If your talking about trying to use your sling swivel on your FSB,

I dont think that is gonna work.  If you are looking at the UTG OP line you need a short section of rail to mount it to.  Unlike the harris it needs (the one it comes with) a conversion piece to mount to a sling swivel instead of rail.  Rail sections are cheap as heck you dont need a Magpul "kit" to go with your moe.

GOOGLE turned up the pics used, the ar sling swivel actually came from a thread here though.
