Ended up doing it myself - once I figured out how much I could torque the compensator against the crush washer it made things much easier - just needed a bigger wrench for leverage, and a little more ass.
Once the compensator was threaded finger tight, I still had about 150+ degrees of turn left to index it on the top of the barrel I covered the flat sides of the compensator twice with duct tape, and the edges of the crescent wrench too. No scars on the metal. I also found on another website, the loctite that is needed, initially works like a lubricant before it dries, so that helped a little during the indexing - Just have to wait 24 hours for the loctite to cure - I'll try to post some follow up information after I shoot it |

Finally got to shoot it yesterday,
this is just my impression, as I have no other experience with a different make of compensator Indoor range - ammo - Federal 5.56 x 45 XM193F Its Loud it cut the recoil in half compared to the stock A2 birdcage (M&P 15A, relatively light gun) / much easier to stay on target for quicker shots Its Loud the blowblack from the escaping gas is comparable to someone aiming an air compressor at your chest from about two feet and letting off quick bursts - nothing bad, but you definitely feel it - Its Loud (however, no one tapped me on the shoulder and said get the $%#@ off the range) |
