I am looking to pick up a new chest rig. Want to carry between 4 and 8 mags.  Padded isn't a must as long as the shoulder straps are wide enough to disperse the weight pretty well.  Any and all recomendations would be appreciated.  I like the looks of the ones built by tactical taylor, S.O. Tech, and couple others. I do want one that has a split front for going prone, its not a deal breaker, but I would prefer it.

I really like the Eagle M4 chest rig. Comes with three kydex mag pouches sewn in. You can always add more if you want. It does not have padded straps though.

I have been looking at the Esstac Chest Rig, Boar A1 (Split Front).  Being able to buy 7.62 "inserts" or the other way is nice for when I use my AK.

Check out US Grunt Gear

And my 9mm Custom Rig from USGG Here And Here is my 5.56 rig.
And just for the record, I did not have it adjusted in the first clip!

Robert is a great guy and former Marine. His work is second to
none, he has great prices & lead times, and it's made in America.

Be Safe!

I have never purchased from them, but I have been checking out all the gear that BDS Tactical manufactures.  They offer tons of options and many different styles of chest rigs, vest, and plate carriers.  Just an option.

I would take a look at the Tactical Tailor 2-piece MAV Complete and the X-Harness.  I have a 1-piece TT MAV with X-Harness I like and TT has a Sale going on now.
