I just got a VTAC sling and I'm really diggin it although I do have one question: My adjustable strap is very long and was wondering if any of you have cut the webbing that attach near the swivels (not the quick adjust part)? I don't want to screw it up!

One end is attached to the rear of the of a CTR stock with quick release swivel and the other end is attached with a quick release swivel at the rear of the rail (DD Omega).

Thanks!

You're supposed to cut it.

Does 12-16 inches sound in the ballpark for an avg size torso?
The only thing I can consider before cutting  is various clothing I might wear and different positions. Anything else I'm missing?

Don't forget to burn the end to keep from unravelling.
Leave some for xtra clothing/armor like you said.

Yes, most folks have to cut them.

I like to heat up a blade and cut it and melt the edges at the same time.  Makes a nice factory looking edge.

Remember to cut the end next to the gun..  the long end is doubled so it wont pull through.

I need to get around to cutting mine.  Currently have them doubled back and folded over with tails inside, then secured with rubber bands or wifey's hair bands.  It will work until I've had a chance to really shakedown the setup to see if I want them that short.

Personally, I like the padded VCAS the best but the adjustment is limited as compared to the VTAC.  The VTAC has a larger adjustment range but has a large metal slider/adjuster and a running tail to deal with.  The VCAS has no tail and an option for a metal or plastic slider.  The VCAS is made from wider and softer material than the VTAC.

Man this is all over the place...I just woke up and it shows.
