I've been researching soft cases and was wanting a little arfcom help.
I have a 16" spikes middy with Magpul ctr and was wondering what kind of soft cases do you guys recommend. The case will be primarily for short term storage indoors and to and from range. I've been eyeballing Galati XT Midways tactical pro series and Midways tactical series. I'm not looking to spend much more than 75$ to my door and wondering on what brands I may be missing. As usual I appreciate the help. |

I have 4 of the Galati XT cases...one is the shot gun case....I have since retired my hard cases....spend the extra $$ and go with the Galati...you will love it....Oh and look in the AR15.com Store...they have the Galati XT cases with the 15 emblem on it....may just have to get one myself for Christmas.....
Buy quality the first time....you will be happier in the end.... SASS |
| The Midway case is pretty nice (their range bag is awesome too), but I really like the Voodoo Tactical soft cases that Sportsman's Guide sells. I have both the 36" and 42" version. The case holds two rifles and has large pockets on the front for other items (magazines, spotting scope, ammo, etc). Check out the long thread on this case. If you go to SG's website, search for "mil-spec tactical case" or something like that. It is on their website in a couple of spots, but the one labeled as Voodoo is more expensive. You get the same case (Voodoo) whichever you order though. |

I only ask cause you make it sound like there are more cases than that. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=406459 I kinda like it, although it does not say anything about holding two rifles. I especially like the backpack design. ETA: OK, I searched Voodoo & found the other cases. |

Each side has two velcro straps to hold down the weapon. SG's website is goofy. You will find the same item listed under different names with different prices. I think that it has to do with the distribution mode. It seems like the ones listed under the Voodoo name are drop ship items (ship directly from Voodoo) while the "mil-spec" branded items are warehoused by SG. They are all the same product though. |

Great thanks for the clarification. May just have to order one of these when the money starts rolling back in. I have a few of the Galati soft cases that I like, but this one (the Voodoo) I am going to have to try. |
