Hey guys...I'm about to order my BCM 20" Gov't Upper, and I plan on fitting it with a KAC RAS 12 rail, and then putting the whole thing on an LMT SOPMOD lower.

I'm in need of a good sling system...I plan on shooting 3 gun and carbine matches, and would like some help selecting the proper tool for the job.

Also, if it matters, I'm a big dude...6'4" 278 pounds.

Thanks,
Hax

Padded VTAC would be my choice.  It allows you to bring the rifle in much tighter than the vickers.

+1 Padded VTAC or VCAS

Play around with your mounting options and study both slings to make a perfect fit for you.

I choose the VCAS just because I like the materials.

I use a Mash Hook with a SLAP in the back for flexibility.... and a rail mounted loop up front near the receiver. I get the solid function of a 2-point with the flexibility of a single point.

I've tried several and I still think Gear Sector is making the nicest slings out there!  Jason's customer service is second to none!

I ordered a tacstrap.  Basically it is just a wider MS2 with different attachment options.  Hopefully it will get here tomorrow and I put up my thoughts and any pictures I feel like taking.

I use the VTAC. Allows a really tight cinch. Can't go wrong with VTAC, Vickers or Gear Sector though.

Isn't that who makes the slings for Larue? I just ordered one from Larue. It looks identical to that except the logo

IIRC the Larue sling is the VTAC with quick disconnects and QD sling swivles added.

Even though the OP already got his sling I vote for the plain VTAC. I will have to try out the padded one.

I have been looking for the VTAC but everyone seems to be out of stock for a black one.  Anyone know where they are in stock at?

Brownells has the padded in black.

Will those padded slings work with a remington 870 SBS?  I just picked one up and  don't have the dimensions in front of me, but I'd think the VCAS type that Brownells' sells above should work fine for an 870?

You just need the stock adapter.

Is sling both useable as a single point sling and double point?  I am a little confused.

No, but it's a great sling that allows transitions and is practically bomb-proof.

If you're cool like my brother, you can modify and customize.

Totally happy with my Vickers sling .I got the non padded version and I'm a big dude also and there's plenty of room.

That's pretty nifty.

"Plenty of room" is an understatement. I'm a "big dude," too, and even when wearing armor it's pretty big.

Love that sling.
