Greetings, I have a DPMS lower with a MIAD grip installed, I opted to get a MOE for a color change. To my surprise the MOE wouldn't fit, is it common that one would need to trim to fit a MOE grip as opposed to a drop in fit of a MIAD? The grip isn't just slightly smaller, I would need to get the ole dremel out and do some hella grinding. Thanks for the replies.....

First... green? Are you serious? Please change it to black. It's readable and less obnoxious. Worse than all caps.

Second, I had the same issue with my DDM4. I was about to re-sculpt the inside as well. I was able to "rock" it onto the gun by getting a corner of it into the grip. By the Time I had taken the grip off the 3rd time to adjust it it went on much easier. I can't really describe how I did it, but basically you just need to force it on and muscle it around.

Work it hard, back and forth, front to rear, etc. It will go onto the gun without cutting it up.

That's what she said!

The Magpul MOE's are a very tight fit! Don't start dremeling just yet. As others have already posted, push that sucker in there. It will fit even if it seems too tight. I thought the exact same thing until I continued to keep forcing it and eventually it made it's way in there!

Thats what she said

But in all seriousness just use a little elbow grease and it will slide on there.

I've run into this to varying degrees with other grips too. Its just plastic that needs to be flexed back. Think of it this way - would you rather have your grip as secure as possible or open to a little wiggling because the slot was a little loose?

I just put one on my AR a couple of weeks ago. Couldnt get it on it was so tight. I was about to file fit it a bit then I had an idea. Soaked it in a cup of very hot tap water for a few minutes to soften it up a little. Sprayed the metal grip stud on the receiver with a little WD40. One tap with a rubber mallet and it slid right on. Nice tight fit.
