I am setting up my new rifle and want to have a sling setup that is as versitile as possible. After much reading here and on M4C.net it seems that the best option is to set up a system whereby you can run a Blue Force Gear VCAS sling as a 2-point, with the option to convert to 1-point if need be. In actuality, since I run a chest rig, I will probably be running it mostly as 1-point, converting to 2-point for extended carry. Here's what I was thinking:
On the buffer tube, a Daniel Defense EZ Carbine QD 2-point sling swivel attachment. http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=DD-5002-S&groupid=77 I would keep the rear of the sling attached on the right side of the mount and the front of the sling mounted forward for 2-point use, bringing it back to the left side of the mount for 1-point use. Does this seem like a good, workable solution? I understand it comes down to personal preference, but I would like to know if there is some glaring mistake that I've overlooked. Lastly, I want to run plain MOE handguards with no VFG and only a small piece of rail for a weapon light at 10 o'clock. What's the most practical way to attach a QD attachment point at the rear of the handguards at 6 o'clock? I am trying to keep the sling as ambi as possible and my thinking is that attching the swivel on the bottom of the handguards will keep the binding to a minimum when switching shoulders. Again, please point out any glaring errors or improvements. Thanks in advance. |

Check out the Viking Tactics adjustable sling. Adjusts to single or double point and the adjustment function is awesome. Get the sling hooks with it too.

| Am I missing something? I didn't see how it transitions to single-point in the sling instructional video. Are you referring to the Viking/Larue padded sling? It seems like the VTAC sling doesn't offer much over the VCAS sling, plus you have to deal with the "tail" when adjusting. Do you have any recommendations for QD attachment points for the MOE handguards? |

Get a small rail on the left side of the MOE handguard and get a Gear Sector QD attachment point.
Linky If you need it, they also have it available in Flat Dark Earth, too, and offer it with a swivel if you need one. |

I've done this to two MOE carbines so far and it's working great: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=2&f=124&t=183475 |
