I have searched all around for "True" military issued backpacks, Duty Gear, etc. Seems like all I can find is replicas or stuff that says made in China, Surely we are not giving our guys in the armed services this junk. There has gotta be some place on the net where I/we can order true military issued gear.
I was looking for something in the back pack line (Camo, Earth or Traditional OD Green) with bladder capabilities or not, I wanted to be able to put my name on it just like our guys have in the armed services. I want to use it for a Grab and go bag when the poo hits the fan, I have my stuff together and I am out the door. You guys have any good websites yall know of? I know there are some guys on here in the military, where can we get the gear yall use? Or is it even possible for us Civi's? |
| Well, you would think so, I live in Beaumont, Texas and the Army Navy Surplus store we have has some used stuff but 99% is New straight from China and it never holds up. So I quit buy'n from them. It just got to be junk and they were way over priced. Thats why I was looking to this forum as I know there are quit a few military personal and veterans on here. |
| The Army doesnt really issue any packs like you are describing. They do issue an assault pack but I personally dont like it, it is very heavy and only has two pockets. Id reccomend something from tactical tailor or even a camelback pack. There are plenty of great packs out there. |

find it there, buy it ELSEWHERE and save... usually, outside of Military Posts are the only good surplus stores these days... |

Get some Camelback gear and you will look like you just got outfitted for a deployment. |
| Sometimes I really think people put far too much emphasis on USGI gear, there's a reason that half of my military issue stuff sits in my closet, and a lot of the stuff I actually use I've purchased myself, to include my backpack, boots, ear muffs, camelback, off the top of my head. |
