I have a magpul ASAP plate coming in today, but I do not have a tool to remove the castle nut. Any tips on installing this, or do I really need to order a wrench for that nut. I didn't know if anyone had any uber cool tricks to get the old one off. Visuals and MS paint are appreciated.

btw: I did a search and didn't come up with anything.

No tricks I know of. You'll have to tool up.

If you're going to work on ARs, you need the tools to do it properly.

wert up. I just don't have the bones at the moment, but I will get one soon. I have a pretty good repertoire of tools, but nothing that will take that off without scratching the hell out of it. Anyone have any suggestions as to where to get a good one on the cheap?

Maybe keep an eye on the EE? I dunno. Prices seem to have gone way up sine I bought mine.

Ordered. Thanks for the link. The cheapest I had seen was about $25, this is much better. Thanks.

I've used a hammer and punch before to turn it and tighten it. I now use that same wrench.
