Anyone have any experience with these?  Seems a good way to maintain lower rail real estate for lights and grip.  Are they sturdy enough?  I have not seen any locally in Austin to check out.

The support should be directly below the gun in order to provide the most stable position. An option many people use is to place the light on the side rail and the grip on the bottom, but leave enough rail forward of the grip to attach the bipod adaptor. Use a CAA bipod adaptor and a Harris 9" bipod. The CAA is quick detach. I keep this setup in my gun bag just to zero at the range because I hate sand bags. Some guys keep this setup in their rucksack and then when in a static position, attach it to the weapon. Just a technique.

Excellent point, thinking about the support, under the firearm is the way to go, thanks for the reply!

why does the bipod being under the gun provide a more stable position than legs being mounted on the side?

CAAs new pods have a rail under them for light / grip mounting.

Personnally, I would save up some more money and try to buy a used Vltor or Tangodown bipod.

i also still wonder why mounting on the bottom is more stable than the sides.

I concur. Wider is better, both with regards to footprint and with regards to mounting.

I would like to see pics with a light mounted on the bipod rail and also some measurements on how much space it takes on the rail, like 2", 3"?  How wide a light or laser can be mounted on the bvipod rail?

It's not.  Think of the rails and handguard as being part of the bipod.  There––now it's mounted in the center because the handguard is centered! :)

that's what i thought.

The side mount bipod allows a lower center of gravity and a wider base, resulting in a more stable platform. And yes it does give you more 'real estate' as wallym777 states

We will be posting information and images of the new side mount bipod soon (hopefully this week)! Be sure to check back at the forum in the NEW PRODUCTS section later this week with updated info and images on the BSR / BSRS!!

Who is posting for CAA on here?  Is that you Mike? lol.

Still waiting on those countdown mags, been showing the video at shows for some time and the customers are anxious to get them in their hands.
