So like, for those of us that like A2s and also like side sling adapters, is there a way for us to be happily married?
I think GG&G makes a side sling plate adapter for the A2, but I'd like to know if there were other options out there. Also, I'd love to get some expertise from y'all about some decent one or two-point tactical slings for the 20" A2. I'm presently rocking the Giles by The Wilderness, it's a pretty dang decent setup you know, but I'd like to have a sling that would be better suited for the sort of fast-deployment, driver-carry that we do when out shooting at bunnies in the Nevada desert. Let's discuss. |

There are a couple of options for the front mount.

GG&G does make an A2 side sling adapter.
I use DPMS side sling adapters because that was what was available when set mine up. GG&G offers plates with slots for standard slings and plates with loops for use with slings that feature snap hook attachment. DPMS is a snap hook loop only plate. |

I wouldn't recommend a single point for a 20" weapon. Unless you are planning on doing vehicle based ops in which case our ASP-V is ideal. Keeps the weapon available at all times and allows unrestricted movement as well as the ability to shoot off either shoulder. Granted this is only a solution if you are wearing a plate carrier, lbv, etc... A quick adjust two point sling would be better suited for your 20" weapon. It adds the ability to go hands free and keeps the weapon high enough that you aren't muzzle sweeping the pavement. |

Okay cool, that's some info I need.
I've been lookin' at Gear Sector's slings. I really dig the GS2P, think it'd be great on my rifle. I especially like how I could possibly get the HK-type sling clip for the front and just easily move it to the back point to emulate a single pointer. While I like my Giles sling, getting in and out of it is kind of an ordeal, especially when I'm on driver. Bunny shooting is serious business and it requires serious gear! |
