Built a table similar to this:

shooting bench plans

3/4" MDO w/ 1" steel legs.
It's comfortable and shoots irons well, but the table wobbles. This is evident when I mount a scope. I found that I get far better results shooting prone w/ sandbags.

I am in the process of designing another table utilizing a tripod design for uneven footing.  Perferably of aluminum or steel. Even a good wood design that could be transported in a car trunk is possible. I am looking into having one welded and am playing w/ the idea of using gorilla-strength bolts to join the pieces together.

Where I live makes shipping [practically] prohibitive, but for the right price...

Any ideas? and can I borrow someone's technology?

I have made a flat surface out of 3/4 plywood to fit across the pickup bed on my Polaris. Not the perfect table but it is quite portable and does work OK.

finally settled on this idea:

20 feet of 2” square tubing, 3/16” thick
The legs and horizontal pieces are 30 inches
The vertical support piece on the 3rd leg is 24”
2 - 2 x 6 x 3/16” pieces, two holes 4 inches apart
4 - 3.5 x 3/8 bolts, w/ associated washers and nuts.

The hardware cost me about $145 and weighs about 75 lbs.

For the table, I used 2 pieces of 5/8 ply, 30 x 36”, glued.
To secure to the frame, 3 - 4.5 x 3/8 countersunk bolts + hardware.
