| How difficult is it to install a flash suppressor on a post ban barrel? |
|
To do it right, the barrel needs to be dissasembled from the upper, chucked in a lathe and have the threads cut by a qualified machinist/gunsmith.
Barrel steel is pretty tough stuff, and if you try it yourself by hand with some Chicom dies from Harbor Freight, at best you'll be doing it forever, and at worst, you'll bugger the job. I just had this done to my post-ban/during ban '96 Colt Match Target lightweight to get it AWB proofed/grandfathered with a Smith Ent. Vortex flash hider. I used a local smith with a good reputation. Many just ship their uppers off tohttp://www.adcofirearms.com/. IIRC, they charge about $60 to have it done. |
