How is that secured in the stock? To me it looks like there are just ball bearings on the QD.

If you look closely at the socket on the CTR stock, there is a machined groove. The QD push button swivel has 4 ball bearings that lock into this groove when inserted.

you sir are correct! I looked at that piece for a while trying to figure it out and never noticed the groove, I thought that was just where the plastic and metal insert met. Thanks for all the help.

Another option is the version that has the QD built into the adapter.  This is what I have used.
