Hey folks . . .

Ugh! I'm having a bit of trouble and I'm hoping I might be able to get some help. I've got several questions with which i need help.

See . . . Acting on the advice of a good friend, I recently bought two "Sightron" scopes. The scopes themselves are fine - the best I've ever owned and I couldn't be happier - except for the fact that Im having one helluva' time finding the right killFlashs for them!

One (a "Big Sky" series), has a 42 mm objective. The other, a 50 mm - and only a few were made: a 1 1/2 X 6 X 50. (I can find no other info online about that scope. FWIW, it's the one marked waaaay down recently, on CTD.)

I think I'm on the right track for the 50 mm's killFlash, though. So, let's start there.

Here's a page from Midway - which has what I think is the right killFlash for the 50 mm.

(Sorry! I can't make it "hot". I'll admit I don't know how!)

According to the Butler Creek sizing chart (also provided on the Midway site), the 50 mm takes a #3 killFlash - which goes with a #30 - 31 lens cover. Sounds simple enough.

But, how do I know my "50 mm" is between 49.8 - 50.7 - and not the next size up? (I know "50" is "between" 49.8 and 50.7. But, there isn't an actual 50 mm?) Isn't that strange? maybe not . . ! Hell! I don't know!

Maybe I'm okay on that one, however . . . the 42 mm is proving a much tougher nut to crack!

I simply want a killFlash that fits under a Butler Creek flip-up lens cover - like all the reasonably-priced ones do. But, for the life of me . . . I can't find one for a 42 mm! The BC lens cover is supposedly a size 17 - 19. (I don't understand why the umber spans "17" to "19". That's confusing, too!)

But, where is there a 42 mm killFlash that goes under it?!? I found one for a Leupold, but it's over $100! And, that one screws into the scope tube! So, that won't work . . . . probably why it's so expensive, though!

I'm at my wit's end. I've looked at way too many Google pages - nothing.

I've never actually held a killFlash in my hand - well, never one that wasn't already inside the lens cover. Let me ask . . . could I get a bigger one - and cut it down, to fit? Is that possible?!?

Guys . . . I'm sorry to sound like such a G-D "Pilgrim". (Good time of the year for that analogy!) I could sure use some guidance!

Thanks!

under where you type, there are 15 insert tags, the second one from the right, next to the envelope one is one with a globe on it, hold you cursor on it and it says 'add link'.

click on it and a box comes up wanting you to name what your link will be called ( leaving it blank will list the url for it ) click ok. a second box comes up asking you put the URL in it, do that and click ok. I'm not tech savvy, and I got it

anyways's, I had 'issues' with trying to get the right size caps myself, and for ones that are a bit too big, I just use a small bit of tape and make a "shim" for it and it works, maybe you could do the same.

I have a killflash for my Aimpoint ( that I'v never used ) and it is hard plastic, so if it's too big, I guess you could sand/file it down to fit.

Okay - on both suggestions/bits of advice! Now, the above lin (to this page), should be "hot".

Thanks!
