Has anyone ever tried/used one of these before?  Promag

Is it worth the additional $24.62 to buy the Colt version.  I don't want to get stuck with some sort of airsoft crap, but the $15.38 price for the Promag version is much easier on the wallet...

The Promag is just like the Colt. I just got one for my RR. Metal construction.

Am fairly certain that that is the one I have.  It works, but the swivel pin does not inspire confidence.

I dunno if the other brands do likewise, but there is considerable play in the longitudinal and roll axis.

Yea they all wabble and slide around on the barrel.  Normal.

Thanks!  Is there a viable alternative to these products short of installing hand guard rails?  Or will this get the job done?

Another option is the GGG Sling Thing.

Thanks!  Does the Sling Thing interfere with the front sight in any way?

No, sling thing mounts on the side rail and is out of the way.  If you are near Jacksonville I have a new one cheap....:sling thing that is".

Much appreciated.  I'm in the Triad area.  Shoot me an IM or e-mail if you want to work something out.
