I am interested in these 3 different 2 pt slings.  The VCAs from Vickers, the VTAC from Viking, and the GS-2P from Gear Sector.  I have no experience with any of these, but they are the type of sling I'm interested in.  They all seem to work in a very similar manner.  Any pros or cons to help me decide?  Also, is there a place in the Dallas area that sells these?  Thanks

I currently own all three, sell two of them could sell all three chose not to.

My personal ranking of them.

VCAS Offers everything you need in a sling and has the widest range of various set-ups that I am aware of ranging from $89 (cobra) to the $37 Victory series which is a VCAS with a plastic instead of CNC metal. So many models I felt I needed to start a thread to explain them  www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=19&t=379411 Tail-less adjustment in all models.

GS2P Jason's sling is smoother feeling material on a slightly smaller width webbing material. One model available, but he covers just about every option for the mounting ends, which the 2 Fastex buckles makes possible. Only reason I can say I like the Vickers sling better than Jason's is that most of my carbines and rifles are pigs and I like the wider webbing to spread the load as much as possible.

The VTAC was the first two point tactical sling I owned, so I have some attachment to it, but once you have run one of the two newer designs you can see their respective manufacturers used their time to refine their product. It lacks in tail-less adjustment, so you can end up with a fairly good length of webbing flapping around if your gear is set up for a vest, or winter clothing and you are using it in the summer for practice in a tee shirt.

I carry the GS-2P on my duty weapon.  If Gear Sector didn't exist, I would use the Vickers Blue Force Gear (VCAS).

It's just my personal preference but I like my Vickers regular and padded slings, I prefer the 1 1/4" wide, stiffer and thicker webbing so I could control it better with my support hand.

My padded Vickers sling is on my heavy carbine with medium contour barrel, Aimpoint,  magnifier, and heavy Vltor EMOD stock while the regular Vickers sling is on my lighter weight carbine.

I've also got the Viking Tactics-LaRue padded sling and the dangling tail doesn't bother me but some guys are bothered by it, I don't like it's webbing material, too flexible and slippery feel, but it works fine no problems with it.

If Gear Sector would make a 1 1/4" wide model I would get one for sure, I'm not really used to the 1" wide webbing.

You might have to buy or try all three slings then get or keep the one you like best.

If only I had a nickel for every time I heard that.

Seriously though, I do hear that quite often, and its always ( 99.99% ) from people who
have never handled one of our products. Those that overcame their fear of the 1" webbing
were pleasantly surprised by how comfortable it actually was. If you were to try one I would
be willing to bet that the difference in widths is a non-issue. As a matter of fact shoot me
your postal address via IM with preferred color and I will ship one out for you to evaluate.

Unless of course you're not interested.

Thanks to Jason's generosity, I have a GS-2P and have had it for awhile. Your fears about the narrow 1" web width are for not.

The tubular webbing is very comfortable (even in a T-shirt) It's a very good sling and I continue to use it.

It's good kit...

I have been moving more of your slings lately, as folks who do not have pigs for rifles find that the 1" is not to be feared. The choice of non-standard (not a flat strap) webbing really does a great job not biting in.

A tee shirt and a 12# carbine gets the sling digging in, which in all fairness the standard VCAS will do as well. If you are wearing a coat or vest you will not have the issue.

Have to get some pictures of the shotgun we were talking about posted, was able to get it to work with just the GS2-P as it came and one UM swivel.

I run the GS-2P.  Like Stick, my second choice would be Vickers.
I think some of the hangups people have on the 1" webbing is from thinking of it in standard flat 1" web, which is uncomfortable.  The tubular webbing doesn't roll and bite like standard flat web does.
The material slickness along with narrow footprint lets the sling route easily over and around other kit.  On my weapons, I've found the sling to be comfortable even for heavier loads and over long periods of time.
