I have the TD and BOBRO, both are good quality. LaRue has a new VFG, but at $99 it may be a little more than you want to spend.

if it is for a plinking gun you might want to pick up a inexpensive one to start with, I picked up one from Midway that works just fine for a range gun.

I like the Bobro shorty myself, the Tangodown is a fine grip but hard to install and remove.  Also too big for my taste.

I'm sure the Larue will be a fine grip and it offers alot of options.

A pic of the Bobro shorty mounted.

Tango Down has always been my favorite.  Some people report issues with them fitting but personally I have not experienced the issue with any of my TD grips.

The Bobro looks pretty good too and has positive reviews here.

LaRue Tactical has a new VFG on the market now that looks like it just might be the new standard.  I have no experience with the LT grip so far but I have two on the way to me now.

The LaRue grip comes with three end caps that allow you to configure the grip in three different lengths.  It has the flat spot for positioning of a tape switch.  The grip is made from polymer and attached to the weapon with an aluminum mount.  The LaRue Tactical QD mount simply can not be beat.

I've have found the above to be true. Off, on or moving the TD's I use has never been a problem.

TD, I've read, is coming out with a QD VFG shortly. Might be worth a look if you think you need a QD grip.

I'm loving the information guys, truly great. I'm looking for just a grip for a range gun I really don't need anything too fancy.

The price difference comes in between the cheap parts that snap under hard use, and the VFG similar to the TD, Bobro, KAC and GG&G.  If you are ever doing a class and run combative drills, you will see the cheap grips snapping left and right.  As someone who has had to use a carbine as an impact tool, I can comment that I don't run cheap parts, or "copies" of other companies products for a reason.  Yes, muzzle punching someone is a highly effective way in stopping someone if you aren't able to shoot them for various reasons.

Beware of knockoffs unless you are only using the VFG for looks and range use, in which case it doesn't really matter what you end up with.

I agree, mine will just be for the range and such. Now one thing is that I have a light that I want to use with it too. you know one of those VFG's that hold the light, I looking at a couple and the new one from CAA really caught my eye, being that it was only 10 bucks more than the cheapo I was looking at. Anyone have anymore ideas?
