I am prety much settled on a Harris.  With my C&R discount through Midway I can get a pretty good price on one.  I know I want the 9-13 model.  But I am new to bipods.  I have a 20" Hbar barrelled RRA upper with a round rifle length free float tube.  It does have a swivel stud.  Which model (letter series) of Harris will work with my set up?  Thanks

I have a 9-13" on a RRA Varmint that is a little too high....I have been buying the LaRue QD mount with Harris 6-9" combo pack form them for $148 (with shipping).

I have found the 6-9" is better suited for me shooting off the bench at the range.

BTW, the Harris is a great bi-pod, they are well made and work great....I modify all of mine by cutting the tiny copper ring on the front that holds the attachment mechanism and replace it with a SS cotter pin and I also remove the thumb screw and replace it with a Allen head black screw, tourqued down to specification for the the tread size....

77Bronc,

Thanks for the reply.   A couple of questions -

(1) How tall are you and what is your build?  I am tall and thin and I was thinking a little extra on the hieght might keep me from scrunching down too much at the bench.   Also prone shooting is not going to happen for a great long time.  I had two major abdominal surgeries recently and laying on my stomach just does not work.

(2) Which Harris letter code to you have l, n, etc. with your RRA varmint?  I am fairly certain I want rigid/no tilt. And what does the adaptor dot hat attaching to the QDS doesn't do?

Cheers,

Methodius
