I use ladder rail protectors to protect uncovered rails, I prefer black ladder covers on top rails to reduce light glare

The ladder rail cover that you shown are either Magpul or Ergo, same thing they're from Ergo which originated them.

You could buy them from AR15.com dealers at the Equipment Exchange section of this same website.

I usually buy my ladder covers from Bravo Company, Global Tactical or Operation Parts but most dealers here sells them.

Go to the Industry section if you want to find the dealers' website info.

Just don't expect them to do much other than shielding your hands from sharp edges of some rail handguards.  My KAC, DD and LMT rails are all softened up, the old MI carbine handguard I had had plenty of sharp rail edges.

The ladder panel still allows the flesh to come in contact with the handguard, and as to protection for the handguard, this picture below shows that it does do its job somewhat, but not for long.  Fired less than 10rds of .308 out of the AR10 while it rested on a huge boulder.  Another 20rds or so would probably eat through the soft ladder panel.

With the panel on the bottom

Panel removed

For the record, I never bought the rail panels on purpose, they'd come with Daniel Defense rail handguards I bought, I never did have much faith in them
