Does anyone have experience with the Zanotti modular safes. I know there are more secure safes for the same money but I want to put it in a closet that is located where I can not get a safe into that is not modular.

It does look like a good idea.
I was pretty sure I would buy one until I called and requested some literature.
Was not impressed with the person on the phone.
The literature conviced me they were not professional.

Marsh,

I’ve had one for just over a year.  It’s been moved once since I bought it and I’ve been very happy with it.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, here are 44,000 words.  I’m just too lazy to type them all.  If you have any specific questions, I’d be happy to answer them.

As for the people and the buying experience, they seemed nice enough to me.

Penguin81,

Nice looking safe! What model did you get and how much did it cost?

Yojimbo,

Thanks!  I got the 5 foot ZA-II in a semi-custom 12 gun configuration with an extra shelf.  I’ve never used the extra shelf, but it’s no big deal because all of the interior customizations were included in the original price of about $1200 to $1300, not including shipping.  Sorry I don’t have exact prices, but I can’t find my receipts right this moment.  I'll keep looking though and let you know.

What type of lights are those and did they do the job?
Thanks

That is a 10-foot rope light from Home Depot.  The precut hole in the back of the safe is only slightly larger than the wire diameter itself, so it was a real pain to cut the plastic mating piece off of the end, but keep it intact enough to still use.

It illuminates the safe interior very well and also functions like a golden rod dehumidifier, so all in all it has worked well.
