[ARCHIVED THREAD] - What Size Case?

I am in the process of building a 20" A4gery and want to get a soft case for it.
I'm still waiting for some parts for it so I don't have it all together to measure it.
Do I need a 38", 40", or 42"? If I get a 40" will it have a 38" inside measurement or if I get a 42" will it have a 40" inside measurement?
Not sure which length to get.

Banger, a 16" barreled AR fits into a 36" case (with a collapsible stock). If you're running a fixed stock plus 20", I'd consider a 40" case. If you're gonna have an adjustable rear, 38" might do the job.

Yeah, it's a fixed stock 20"er, I guess I should have stated that from the beginning.
