Either a 2-Point (V-Tac or Vicker's) or 3-Point (Specter Gear SOP).  If you have to do a lot of transitions, I prefer the 3-Point.  But that is just me.  The 1-Point slings were not designed for that type of shooting.

I have tried three point, two point, and singel point slings for 3-gun and my vote goes to the single point.  We shoot trooper style so you MUST carry all of your ammo as well as pistol and rifle.  When I need to transition from rifle to my secondary, I just drop the rifle and it hangs in front out of the way of my holster and pistol mags.  My single point sling (made by Tactical Tailor) attaches to the back of my vest so it does not go around the body and get in the way of my AR mags.  It can be seen in these two pictures.  The 2" buckle mates with the male 2" side and is reduced to a 1" pigtail that is attached to any slotted receiver end plate.

What works for me might not work for you,
