I am looking for a source for 1 1/4" Fastex type buckles for my homemade single point sling. None of the fabric stores around here have them. Only the 1" ones.

The only ones I have found on the internet sold a minium of 500. I only need 5.

Any ideas?

Mick

Update:

Following the link provided by river_rat, I purchased what I needed from "Best Buy Button & Buckle" They just came in the mail, and look like good quality.

Thanks,

Mick

www.supplycaptain.com has a lot of hardware, even available in subdued colors in small quantities.

Supply Captain has 1", 1 1/2" and 2", but no 1 1/4" buckles are listed on the web site.

Anybody know where I can get 1 1/4" buckles?

Email them and see if they can get them.  Have you tried putting the 1.25 webbing through 1" buckles?

Also, check eBay.

One last idea is contact some of the big boys about sample orders.  They will often give you a handful of what you are after under the premise that you will buy a lot of them if they are what you want.

Ace hardware has everything for building the above tactical sling except the 1.5"  webbing.

I have explored all the above options. The company selling samples has only one,       1 1/4" buckle, and it does not ship to North America on that model for a sample.

E Bay , and everyone else has plenty of 1", 1 1/2", and 2", but no 1 1/4"

Thanks for the tips, I'll just keep looking,

Wait, now I'm not POSITIVE on this, but I thought there policy was you could order samples from any of the countries, it's just that it would take longer if it were from one other than N. America.

Might want to check on it

For anyone interested I corrected my bad link in my post above and added another one which is a listing of companies that can be searched through.

Strapworks.com (Strapman) posts here and offers a discount from ARFCOMers, code AR15.

I purchased most of my sling materials from them and they are very supportive of the DIY sling project.

They don't have 1 1/4" hardware however.

Your welcome and glad to help. Do you have a good source for 1 1/4" nylon webbing suitable for sling material? Preferably about .080" thick.

No, I'm going to use cotten webbing, similar to the GI issue sling. The local Army/Navy surplus store has it for about $1.00/foot, in black or OD.

Thanks. I have found a few sources online but have to do a little more investigating on what they are actually offering.
