Sure this has been discussed but I could not find a thread.

I will be using  an Uncle Mike's Quick Detach Sling Swivel.  I have a Larue Tactical hand guard and I will be using a Troy one-point sling.

Is it best to use the sling swivel on the hand guard where there is now an attachment point close to the receiver on the rail or would you opt for attaching just aft of the receiver through the use of a Tang Down PR 4 or 16 or similar product.

What are the advantages / disadvantages.

Thanks,

If you are talking about putting a single point sling on mounted to your Larue handguard, don't do it.

The Larue is setup for a 2 (or 3) point sling.  It is useless for a single point.

Stick,

Thanks for replying.  .The proper attachment point is just behind the receiver.
