| I have a Colt 6920. I order a front sight tool from Midway but did not fit over the sight (correct number of prongs but the diameter is not right. Any recommendations on brands that will fit. In addtion, anyway of getting around buying this tool? |
I do something close to this. I use two small allen heads. One to depress the plunger and another to turn the sight post by sticking it in one of the notches and turning it. TC |
I don't like the green paint flaking off into the detent and such! |
A bullet tip is always available, and even closer than your range bag. I actually have two tools, one in each rifle's case. One is like this one and one is like this one but with 4 prongs instead of 5 to fit an A2 post. Both came from the local gun show and both fit the sight OK. The second one is much easier to fit over the post though. The clearance hole must be just a little bit bigger and the wide part inside is deeper. If I ever get another one it'll be like the second one again. |
