Gents,

I've had my AR for a little over a year now, but I never figured out what brand of sling was on it.  Today, I swapped the ban-era "collapsible" for an M-4 style collapsible, and I'm having a little trouble figuring out just how to rig it now that I don't have use of a) the rear sling swivel or b) the adapter the sling originally had.  I had to jerry-rig a strap out of some canvas strap I had, but didnt have the right fitting to make it look right.  Below are some pics... I was hoping ya'll could help me identify the sling and figure out the right way to route it/configure it with my current setup.

Front sling swivel:

Ghetto rear setup:

Orig. A2-buttstock adapter (no longer useful):

Thanks for the help guys.

Now that's a good picture. NATOPS PCL included... that's worth some cool points.

I use a Specter Gear CQB sling on an M4gery with the M4 stock. Now in your pics, I am guessing that is your old stock? The M4 stocks don't have the top loop....but you just attach the sling in the same way....Specter just has a piece of web with a buckle as an adapter. It just goes through the lower slot and around the top, and you slide the sling strap through. Just like in your pics, but no upper loop/slot.

If that is the stock in question, it isn't the new style M4 stock...it looks like the old CAR type stock...The M4 stocks have 6 positions, don't have the top loop, and have a actual sling swivel installed on the bottom. If that is the stock you currently have on...your rear hook up looks right, the same way a Specter Gear sling hooks up anyway...

As far as identifying the sling, I don't know on that....

Try going to Specter Gear's website, they have good photo's showing how to attach the sling, and how to use it....
