I used to think they were just for Airsoft until I shot a guys rifle with one.  Now I like them.  It helps with recoil control to help you get back on targer faster.  It also allows you to use your thumb to activate a Surefire light on your rails or mount tape switches on.  The king of VG's is the Tango Down in my opinion but the KAC and Magpul are nice also.

I'm another convert.  I avoided them for years then I tried.

I went from a Tango Down to a Surefire M900A-WH

I like  mine too.  Better rifle control, more comfortable grip.

oh shit!! that thing is 600 bucks!!!  but it would be really nice wouldnt it although i dont really have any legitimate reason to have a 600 flashlight with a stick on it..... but then i suppose if i ever had to use the gun at night it would be really helpfull.... this is one expensive hobby

:D  Yes it is

The M900 comes with both a 125lumen bulb and a 225lumen.  I haven't even gotten the currage up to put the 225 in, the 125 is friggin BLINDING of the receiving end.

You don't need to spend $600.  Go buy my Knight's Armament vertical foregrip in the EE for a mere $35 shipped!  A flashlight kit from Brightflashlights for about $85 and you got the same setup!
