So which is the best sling? I may be old but in my day, Ranger School forbade slings (NO SLING FOR YOU!). I grew up that way and so for my many AR's, I have no slings attached and often tape up the metal sling attachments (no noise). Now, everyone in this forum has slings attached and now I feel inadequate without a sling (I also got older and now feel the weapons weight). I am leaning toward a Single Sling attachement point. The three-point system goes against a lot of old hard training. KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid. But if anyone can give me better reason to have a multi-point sling, I am all ears. So what do all of you experts have to offer??? |

I'm in the same position. I have a CQB 3-point CST sling, and it's just so much material. The Troy single point looks promising. But what happens when you let go of the sling? Does it swing down and hit you? Do you reccomend the Troy over the MOUT? The troy has the padding, would that be helpful, or is it not quite heavy enough? |

I'm partial to the IDF SF sling... Edited to add.... btw, the clips that connect to the paracord are METAL on my sling. YMMV. www.zahal.org/rifle/p6.htm Although I got mine off Evil Ebay. ![]() TC |
No beerswimmer, he bought it. Didn't you notice the link and the reference to getting it off eBay?I've been using a 3-point sling from Sling Systems for 2 years now on my 20" Bushie and it's worked great but for my M4 I'm going to try a CQB/Specter single point HST sling. A number of my shooting buddies use SPSs and I like the way the muzzle points straight down when the rifle is not in use. Also, when I'm at a class and I want to take the rifle off I can unclip the it from the sling instead of taking off the sling and all. Sounds kinda convenient. You can't "sling up" with these when shooting prone, either; they're purely CQB slings. For all around versatility, you really can't beat the good ol' GI sling. |

Nah, didn't make it. I'm not that handy with webbing/binding/sewing. I really don't have any other pics of the sling, but I found this pic on ebay. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=36077&item=2283600004&rd=1&ssPageName=WD1V TC |
