Here's a cheap way to set up your carbine with a single point sling without the burnsed loop or the $25 sling:

Take a length of parachute cord and tie it in a loop.  Take the loop and choke it arount the extension tube:

Take a standard $5 sling and pass it through the para cord loop, then buckle the two ends together, making a loop:

This setup works just like the MOUT sling/GGG looped plate setup that costs $50 or more.  There's no quick release, but hey it's only five dollars.  The paracord will not get in the way of the charging handle.

Gentlemen,

No flame, just genuine concern.

The Burnsed LoopTM exists for a reason:  Most of the improvised sling attachement methods around the extension tube CAN GET YOU KILLED!

Zip ties
550 cord
hose clamps

I have seen them all rotate to block or tie up the charging handle.  Mr. Murphy will pick the appropriate moment for that to happen, of course.

Get a Burnsed Loop or somebody's sling plate, but don't bet your life to save a few dollars.

best regards,

southern
