[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Standard Sling?

Hey guys

I will be putting together a basic 16" mid-length car and just want a simply quality 2 point sling that attachs to the normal swivels on the barrel and buttstock. I would prefer some type of nylon as opposed to leather.

Any suggestions?

I would suggest an Uncle Mike's 1-1/4 X 48-inch black nylon utility sling. That's what Colt has been shipping with their AR's for as long as I can remember. They are simple, and never break. The second option is the USMC canvas sling. Very common, adjustable, and available in OD and black. My preference is the USMC canvas because it's not as slippery as nylon when using it as a shooting aid. Good luck.

So as not to start another thread, I'll throw in a question here.

I need a basic sling in 1" width to use w/ my HK snap hook.

Who makes a 1"?

Pretty much any store that has any sort of camping gear carries 1". Heck, even Wallyworld has it. Its the 1.25" and the 1.5" sling webbing that's hard to find

Where can you get the USMC slings from? A\N stores? Any on line sources?

Sounds like U need a standard GI silent sling. They run around $4-5 new .
