Looking for ones that will stay put and not move down or spin around. Or a solution, like pocket in the pants etc. Any suggestions welcome |

I like these, they use metal clip fasteners and wont losen up like velcro does. www.tacticaltailor.com/catalog/access.htm |

No kidding, I just did some squad rushes the other day, trying out my new Galls knee pads and proved they weren't worth a shit. By the time I got 50 yards into the rush, hitting the ground every 5-7 yards (because that is the way you really fight in a war) the knee pads were around my ankles. Then I go to Menards and see "Roofing Knee Pads" be damned if they didn't stay put! |
no shit, i found out the same thing when i settled on some roller blading knee pads at dunhams overf some "tactical" crap. or when i (last week) found the sweetest tac gloves ever for 6.99 at the local meijer store listed as "well's lamont mechanic gloves" thin leather palm/fingers/neoprene back, velcro wrist fasteners |
Gets better, I found that my Mizuno linbacker gloves from the high school days, with the gel padding on the top of the hand and fingers, are the best tactical gloves yet! I even saw a Dallas police officer wearing the exact same pair on an episode of COPS! |

After 8 years in the Light Infantry Divisions of the United States Army, the only knee pads that I will wear are those made by Alta Industries (and I prefer the buckle as opposed tothe buckle). They are inexpensive, rugged, and comfortable -- and indespensible in my opinion. High Performance Tactical Gear www.Lightfighter.com |
Very nice... exactly what I'm looking for. But could you clarify... Which ones DO you prefer exactly? "I prefer the buckle as opposed to the buckle" :) Thanks |
While I'm not Lightfighter what he meant to say is he "Prefers the Buckle to the Velcro (buckle-less)" He sold a pair of those Altas to my buddy - man are they great knee pads (I've got to get me a set) - much better than the Velcro based ones I got from Galls (the Monica Signature series <G>). The buckles make it much easier & quicker to get them on & off. |

I like these ... ![]() ...and not <just> because of what they are on. Allot depends on what shape you are. I have bird legs and nothing would stay up. I played tournament paintball for 6 years and tried everything. These slide on and cover the area from the ankle to the lower thigh. It is hard to tell from the photo but there is a separation (seam) between the sliding shorts and knee pads. They are light, comfortable, not cheap, and stay put in all kinds of mud, sand, rain... I sometimes use a second one like the ones above over these and with these under my pants, the "skater" knee pads would usually stay put. www.jtusa.com --LS |

Sorry -- sometimes I out think myself, especially when I am typing! :) I like the buckle over the Velcro because velcro wears out and it 'clogs' up with dirt and grass in a fiend environment. I think that the Buckle stays on better, lasts longer and is easier to use. High Performance Tactical Gear www.Lightfighter.com |

What Hoplophile said: Sew in some beltloops, at the back above the knee portion where the straps run when they are fitted correctly. Same thing with all dropleg holsters, except perhaps the Safariland 6004 and the HSG Drop leg holster, the straps in my experience, all tend to slide down the leg, so wearing them for any extended periods, while fire and maneuvering, gets pretty annoying. The sew on belt loops solves this to a certain extend. I use either an milspec elastic loop or a 1 inch webbing type to make these. |
