I have been testing a few prototypes of this for almost all of 2026 and I have been excitedly waiting for them to release it, but they have been putting it through the paces to make sure it is as tough as they wanted it to be. I like it more than my OG AEMS, and it is on par with my HS512C's (which I own 5 of and use them on my competition PCC's) for clarity and distortion, but the Osight R is more bang for the buck. I ordered the Osight R this morning. I almost forgot about the release until I found this thread. It is a very impressive optic, especially considering the price. I also ordered and received the the pistol optic SE DPP and my SIG Sauer P320 Compact .45acp I recently purchased. The Slide is at C&H Precision being machined with the DeltaPoint Pro footprint. I also have a number of Olight products. They too are impressive for the price! |
So... I find comfort in the fact that if Trump has to work so hard to go to Heaven, then there is a shit load of Democrats that have no f-cking chance to go anywhere but HELL. Sometimes it is entirely appropriate to kill a fly with a sledge-hammer.

This interests me but not at $299. A refurb Vortex UH1 is about $400 and Romeo8T sights have been selling at $430 shipped regularly from PSA sales - only $100 or so more than this. Not to mention the proven AEMS and etc around the same point. I would try one of these at $175-200. But thats just my cheap poor person opinions. |

Very interesting optic. If the parallax is good, I may buy one. The T1/2 footprint only helps its allure... Edit - attached the video posted above. At about the 1 min mark he shows the reticle and the parallax looks terrible. Maybe he's moving the sight too but wow. |

These guys are crazy   CAN THE OSIGHT R HOLD ZERO AFTER 10,000 ROUNDS? I don't have a production version, just some early test samples, but I will see if I can get some video of parallax. |

Olight? Let me guess. It runs off a sealed lithium ion battery, with proprietary magnetic charging??? Seriously though, it looks like an AEMS ripoff. Olight used to be a good company. I still have two working relics from their early days. But, they went to hell in a hand basket, with their cultish like flash sales, the color of the month, sealed battery compartments, over driving leds past their safe threshold, terrible bins, gimmickry, and proprietary mag charging bs. There are just too many good optics, and optic companies out there for me to even consider an optic from Olight. |

Olight definitely isn't the company it was a few years ago, but that's got nothing to do with Osight. David Chow is the cofounder of Osight and runs their design studio in Chandler Arizona, they just use the Olight factory to produce the optics, which isn't a bad thing because it is state of the art. I've known David for 25 years and he is a great person to have running Osight; he has always been a gun guy, and has a great work and design ethic. He used to build custom flashlights before he started Fenix Store, then the 4sevens flashlight brand. They have a group of people who provide design input and do T&E for them, from competitive shooters like Max Leograndis and Justine Williams (and myself, though I am in no way on the level of those two) to military, police and recreational shooters. I often chat directly with David about my opinion of designs and features. I have a lot of faith in Osight as a company. |

@chevrofreak Thank you for that information. With these companies you don't know if it is a 100% Chinese owned company like Holosun or an American owned company outsourcing production to China. There is a difference as Vortex, Primary Arms, and most other American optic makers outsource some models to China. |

I used to be all-in on Holosun, having bought my first one, an HS502C (serial number 50) directly from Luis Chirino on eBay in 2015 for the sum of $250 with shipping. I ended up with over 50 of their sights and lasers in about an 8 year period, and from day one I ran into resistance every time I recommended them. Everyone was calling them cheap Chinese airsoft trash. I've been involved with Osight since before their first optic was released (fun fact, their first pistol dot was going to be called the Osight R) and I have run into the same resistance and hesitancy. I'm not paid by Osight (unless you count getting to keep prototypes) I don't post any referral links, and I don't even care if people buy them directly from Osight or another retailer. I just want to get the word out about another great bang for the buck product like Holosun was back in the day, and I disclose my involvement in the design decisions (though I am under NDA) to help potential buyers realize that Osight is actively seeking input from experienced shooters to help them make the best products they can. Right now you can get the Osight R at 10% off, making it less than my first Holosun, and it is every bit as good, maybe even better. |
