Finally got mine in. Its one of the few FFP LPVO's that I've been able to get 1x where I want it, and easily still see what I feel I should be able to see at 6x. Generally speaking I dislike LPVO's, this one however is an absolute knockout. I prefer it, by a good margin, to my old NX8 and ATACR. Very good 1-6 lpvo. Actually makes me want to shoot with it. |

Attached File I used the KS to set this up today as well (nightforce really piled it on me at one time), but the home for that will be delivered shortly (MK1 Stainless 14.5). If I didn't have that rifle coming, frankly that setup is quite nice on the KS1. Good problems to have for sure, but problems nonetheless. Oh, and for the record, the 2-12.......first impressions are *very* favorable. |

I assume it has a lot to do with individual eyesight and the need to adjust the diopter in the first place. I also assume the more you have to adjust it, the more off it is from where the internals were geared to work around and it’s likely to only be focused hard on one end of the other of the spectrum. I lastly assume this is also a function of size and magnification. So all things else equal, I’d expect the small 1-8 to be more finicky than the large 1-6. I’m definitely not the norm because my eyesight has degraded over time and will always need substantial eyepiece focus work. Personally, I can get the PLXC serviceable @ 1X and SHARP @ 8X. I can’t say that about other things that probably work great for others. I will say the NX6 is easy to work well with and I have a solid image @ 6X and a GREAT flat 1X that also has a crisp image and reticle. It’s an easy optic to set up and the more I use it the more I liken it to an ATACR than an NX series. |

It resolves sharper than an ATACR for me. Then again I have a lukewarm opinion of the ATACR. When it came out it was in a league of its own, but today there are lots of comparable options that often beat it in one way or another and usually at a fraction of the price. I also agree that if one only had experience with the non-RDB, it’s only semi-relevant to the RDB and it’s not the same optic in more ways than the illum tech |
