I just bought, and returned, a Frenzy Plus.

I wanted to see what the hype about this brand was about and needed something with an Acro footprint as i am doing s rebuild on PC Carbine.

The sight has relatively low viewing area, which is good and common for mailbox style red dots.

The glass was possibly the worst I've ever looked through.

Tint was not an issue, but distortion--and magnification--were.

If not centering what I was targeting, anything outside of center became stretched/distorted/curved like a camera fisheye.

The worst part was that it actually magnified.  Not quite 2x, but obvious enough that whatever i looked at was bigger in the window.  I looked at an object in my living room and passed the sight through line of sight, the break in contour lines was obvious and portion in the window was much bigger(and curved due to the fisheye effect).

Promptly returned.  Sample of one but garbage in my opinion.  Never seen even a budget sight with glass that bad.  I would never trust looking through any iron sights  though this.  It may fly as a dor only, but I will never try them again.

I'm looking for a stand in/fill in for an ACRO P2 until I decide if I want to go all in on a couple of P2's so I'm hoping to find something with a similar window size and feel, even if the user controls are totally different.

Thanks

That sucks the one I received was nothing like that so maybe something changed. Mine was an early model from when they were first released.

@chmodx was yours like this? Dont mind the smudges/etc around the very far edges, that just from not being cleaned perfectly. These are the best two pics I could take through it with my phone on a very diverse background of my wife's clothes for color testing

Don't lie, that's your own closet.

It's hard to tell--I tried to get a picture of how mine was before returning it.  I just could not get the right focus with the camera, but to my eyes the lamp shade retaining nut(silver sphere) was noticeably larger in the window.  Contours of a box were misaligned in the picture to what stuck out of the optics edge.

I just couldn't get my camera to capture it

I also tried holding it both close and far.  Even at arm's length like holding a pistol, the magnification was present.

Shot Cola Warrior NW today with my 12.5" 6 ARC with 2-12 on top and I really liked it. Easy to get behind in the few different positions we shot rifle. Targets started at 100 and went to 550. I left my parallax on 100 yards (didn't think to adjust during the course of fire )and it looked fantastic at all ranges.

So I've got some cash to burn and I think I'm finally wanting the 2-12x44 you've all been liking.

But, I just looked at SHOT show 2026 news and it looks like Vector released but not to retail yet a 'Gen II' version of the continental line.

Does anyone with a current 'Gen I' 2-12 feel like anything needed an upgrade? It looks like the glass and basics are all the same, but switchable turrets is introduced sort of like Leupolds old M1/M2/M3 turret line in the MK4 series.

Only thing I'd care to change would be a low profile built in throw lever of some sort.

I got the heads up from this video, but it looks like the GenII includes:

Motion sensor illum
Switchable turrets
Integrated (allen key set screw I assume) sharkfin throw lever
50% more elevation and windage adjustment

So maybe I'll wait for the new Gen II and it was great for me to be broke last year when I was dabbling in all these budget products

I just watched C_Does's video on the 2-12 and was getting ready to pull the trigger until I heard about the Gen 2.

Ive been using the Vector 4x prism in various 2g and RnG for about 6 months now, and probably the rest of this year for day events.

Im honestly impressed with the glass and the form factor. The hardware is very suspect and cheap looking but has thus far held up.

The most irritating thing about it is the 1moa clicks. I am annoyingly .4moa windage offset from being perfectly zeroed.

Unfortunately it doesnt look like there is any info on when the Gen II will be released Since it was a SHOT debut I guess it could be any time this year.

I might not be able to hold off on buying the Gen I if it goes past this summer and just settle for that.

I like my Gen 1 a lot. The only thing for the 2-12 that I'd like from the Gen II is the integrated throw lever. Other than that, I don't care about the additional adjustment. 10-mil per turn of the elevation knob is nice too, but for the 2-12 I don't intend to dial.

We might have a chance to check one of these out on the reviews channel soon. It's a interesting enclosed option given the price.
