I have an AR-15 A3 flat top receiver with an A2 fixed front sight. What height of riser is needed for use with a 2-7X scope, 1" tube mounted in a PEPR QD base?
TIA |
| The PEPR mount is meant to mount directly to the upper receiver without any kind of riser. The only issue you're going to have is that at 2x, 3x, and maybe 4x the front sight will be visible as a blur and may get in the way of your sight picture through the scope |

After measuring the upper, the top of the sight is about 1.5" above the top of the rail. Which is the same as the distance between the rail top and centerline of the scope tube on the PEPR mount. So I won't be able to see the target.
How much higher does the scope need to be to see past the sight? |
