| I recently got a pair of MBUS Pro sights from the EE, and they had a couple of spots where the previous owner painted them. The left over paint is kind of in nooks and crannies of the sights, but I'd like to try to get most of it off (call me obsessive but I just want the sights to be all black again). Any suggestions on how to do so without damaging the finish on the sights themselves? I'm tempted to use some kind of chemical paint remover but I want to make sure it won't wear through the finish on the metal. Any ideas help, thanks |

Either of above will work fine. The MBUS Pro sights are black nitride treated. They are extremely hard, so I doubt you could even scratch them if you purposefully tried.
Immersion in either of those solutions and a little scrubbing with the nylon brush or even fine steel wool should do the trick and not harm them one bit. |

Thanks, I was unsure of how the nitride coating would react to acetone or other chemicals. |
