I know there are quite a few topics on the MRO, but it seems most of the reviews were done when the optic first released, and some reviews seemed biased. I am completely un-biased and do own both the MRO and an Aimpoint, I have no dog in the fight.
I recently sold my Viper PST 1-4 because my rifle was heavy, and I found myself leaving it on 1x 95% of the time. It was time for a slim down. I began researching optics and was trying to decide between a used T1 or the MRO. I had a budget right around $500, and knew I wanted something micro. I decided to take my chance with the MRO even with the mixed reviews. I ordered the MRO from Larue because they had some of the best pricing, it came with a great QD mount, and I received a good amount of free swag. The wife can't wait to try the dillo dust. When unboxing the optic I was expecting too see a horrible blue tint, a fish eye effect that would make me nautious, and magnification that would make close shots impossible. Much to my surprise it was like looking through my Aimpoint Pro except it's lighter and I don't get the "tube effect". If it weren't for all the negative reviews I would have never noticed the magnification, in fact I had to try to look for it. It was most noticeable when looking through the optic with only one eye open and looking at objects within 10 feet. Mounted on the rifle with both eyes open I do not notice it. It feels very solid, but it's also very lightweight. Typical Trijicon quality. The windage and elevation dials do have an audible and felt click, I do not have any concerns that they would be adjusted inadvertently. I am looking forward to testing this little optic in a rifle class, I have no doubt it will perform as expected. *Pics forthcoming* |

I must admit that after about 15 years of Aimpoint M2, M4, M4s and H1s in various civilian and military use I too find the MRO just about perfect for what I want.
Found my new 42xxx sn one extremely light, super clear optics and wide FOV. Whatever blue crap others see I just don't notice it at all. There is some reflection but my Aimpoints had that too and seems to depend on the lighting behind me. I like the switch that has a off position between 2&3 setting. I have been able to mount it more rearward to use the wider FOV and that seems to make my carbine handle better. It is thinner in the body so I actually see less of the MRO body than with a Aimpoint. Adjustment is super easy and no caps to keep up with. The factory provided mount while lacking the grace of others is secure and low profile with no knobs or levers protruding from either side. Satisfied = yes Recommend = yes If you get one, mount the thing and don't just fiddlefuck it in your room holding in your hands. |

I watched your review and your 2016 Top 5 Products and that played into my decision to purchase the MRO. |

I was always up in the air about the MRO. One day at the range I had my T1 and another guy had the MRO. We got to talking and then compared the two. We both agreed that the MRO had a tint to it and we both noticed the fish eye effect. He said he would rather have gotten the T1.
I'd be curious to see the reviews on the MRO Patrol to see if anything changed with the glass or the slight magnification fish eye issue. |
| Really only as food for thought as to what someone else thinks. Still a individual decision that should be based on trying the thing out. Lots of people love the ACOG but I am not overly fond of it for my use. I like and completely trust most any Aimpoint but have grown to like and appreciate what the MRO has to offer. |

Ehh, we all know what opinions are like. I love mine, much better than the T1 I had. And it's Trijicon so it's bombproof and it's made here, MAGA Mo-Fo! Yep, from reputable reviewers they are very valuable And that means what? The might like sweet potato pie too, doesn't make it good lol In the end it's some YouTuber saying their opinion on the internet. Take it for what it is, opinion, not fact. ETA: Nothing against GunsNGear, I like his channel. |

I don't don't care for his stuff or one thing in particular he did but he does seem list the facts and do a great job of reviewing. |
