| Anyone get to play with or own one of these yet? I'm curious how bright the illumination is during the day compared to a fiber optic TA11. |

I actually just received one this past week and took it to the range yesterday. I'm very satisfied. It is currently riding on a BCM 20" gov't with A5 EMod kit. I am awaiting release of the UBR 2.0 to build a new lower for it. ------ This one was taken at noon with full sun overhead. The camera was picking up quite a bit of sun glare. Brightness set on max. --------- This one was taken later in the evening (about 4:30), same illumination setting. ------- To compare, this is a shot through my Elcan SpecterOS 4x also on max brightness (which is no slouch itself, but it can't compete) --------- When I took it to the range for zeroing, I found it extremely helpful to be able to turn the illumination completely off and get a nice crisp black reticle. At 21.5 oz with battery and TA-51 mount, it's no lightweight. I will be spending a lot more time with it over the next few months. For now, I am very happy with the LED ACOG. At 21.5oz w/stock mount, it is hefty. Have to check into other mounts for weight savings, or would it be worth it? |

Thanks for the info, and images. The LED model has been on my list of ACOG interests, and I like what I've seen here. At 21.5oz w/stock mount, it is hefty. Have to check into other mounts for weight savings, or would it be worth it? Having compared the geissele super precision to the stock knob mount, its a very slim savings, it was a .87 ounce difference, no joking. I think the LaRue LT681 is a little lighter than the geissele. |
