Looking at scopes vs red dot for my 223 AR I'm currently finishing up. I don't want spend ton of money on optics but also want make sure I don't end up with something cheap and unusable. I'm considering these:

Vortex Crossfire
Vortex strikefire

Or any cheap scope/red dot line of those sorts. Anyone familiar with these?

What does the thread title mean?  "Blinking" scope?

Once past that question, what is your budget, and how will you use the optic?

Personally not a fan of the Chinese glass in the Crossfire line.
